Every year, I make three New Years’ Resolutions. Three, because it’s a small enough number that I can (theoretically) remember them/do them.
The resolutions for 2010:
Advance my career in some way.
Break 1:45 in a half-marathon.
Read at least 10 pages of a book every day.

January 22, 2010: The sun doesn’t set until 5 p.m.
February 16, 2010: The sun doesn’t set until 5:30 p.m.
March 14, 2010: DST begins and the sun doesn’t set until the new 7:00 p.m.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.
Except, they should have picked a photo from THIS season to illustrate the story. Paul Harris is def not on the team anymore (in the background - he’s a Maine Red Claw now), and Jake (?) Thomas, the main guy in the photo, is/was a walk-on and may not even be on the team anymore. I don’t even know.
The local running club is holding an event on New Years’ Day called “Dip in da Crick.”
It does not seem to involve much running. You just run through the creek at the Parkway.

I just realized today is December 21, aka the winter solstice, aka the shortest day of the year.
Which means from here on out, there will be more and more daylight every day.
SWEET. We’re on our way out of this crap season.
Does working out in the freezing cold burn more calories (and therefore make you hungrier) than doing the same workout in better conditions?
